On November 23, 2006, European Agency for Reconstruction, with cooperation of Public Procurement Office of Republic Serbia, within the programme "Support for the Judical Education Centre", organized workshop:

"Public Procurement regulation in EU"

Judges from Serbia taking part were informed about regulations and so-called "good practice" of the EU in the area of  public procurement.


On June 16, 2006, the Public Procurement Office of Republic Serbia and OSCE Mission in Serbia and Montenegro organized conference - presentation of the document:

”Baseline of Strategy for Upgrading the Public Procurement System in Serbia”


The Public Procurement Office (PPO) is set up as an independent governmental agency with the mission to help the establishment of sound procurement procedures and practices ensuring that public funds are spent in an efficient and transparent way, thus complementing government's overall drive in containing corruption.
The aim of the PPO is to promote knowledge and understanding of Public Procurement Law by:

  • Preparation of guidelines, manuals, procurement procedure forms and checklists;
  • Preparing standard bidding documents and standard contracts for typical types of public procurement;
  • Giving clarifications on troublesome provisions of the PPL;
    training of public officials and capacity building;
  • Organising workshops, seminars and conferences with discussions on public procurement matters;
  • Providing consulting and advice service to both contracting authorities and bidders;
  • Providing consulting and advice service to both contracting authorities and bidders;
This web site is expected to increase efficiency and transparency of activities of the PPO and to serve as an important tool in disseminating materials and information on public procurement.

Overtime it should evolve into a sophisticated web based procurement system including electronic procurement.
